Autism Walk & Festival

2017-2019

From 2017 to 2019, we hosted the Autism Walk and Festival each April in League City, Texas, bringing families in our local community together to celebrate their loved ones with autism and raise awareness about the disability. This annual event was a fun, family-friendly fundraiser that quickly became a highlight of the year. Families and friends joined in a 5K walk or run, forming creative teams that dressed up in coordinated outfits in honor of their loved ones. Year after year, the event grew bigger and more joyful, bringing families closer and creating lasting memories.

The festival was packed with excitement for kids and adults alike. Balloon animals, bubble machines, bounce houses, DJs, cheerleaders, musicians, and food trucks kept everyone entertained. Local vendors and even the Houston news station came out to support the cause. Silent auctions added another layer of fun and community engagement. Each year, attendance grew as over 70 teams registered, making the events bigger and better while raising more than $30,000 across the three years.

Beyond the fun and festivities, this project reminded us that community matters. We loved meeting families, hearing their stories, and building meaningful relationships with them. The Autism Walk and Festival was more than just an event; it was a celebration of connection, joy, and the incredible spirit of the families we serve.
